From purchase to disposal
When you buy an asset, it gets a unique serial number and goes into its category, subcategory and group, with the accounting scheme that belongs to it. For each serial number you set the person responsible and the date it was put into use; when you buy several units at once, you do this in bulk. From then on, every event in the asset’s life is kept in its history: revaluation, additions and reconstructions, sale or disposal, each with its own accounting effect.
Tax depreciation and management depreciation
In Albania, depreciation in the financial statements follows SKK 5 (national accounting standard 5), while tax depreciation follows the rates in Article 51 of Law 29/2023 on income tax. When the two figures differ, the difference is adjusted in the tax base. That is why the program calculates tax depreciation and management depreciation in parallel, each with the method you choose, and you do not keep a separate Excel table for either of them.
In the year of purchase or disposal, tax depreciation is calculated in proportion to the period of use. The rates and the other year-end steps are in the year-end closing checklist (in Albanian), and the declaration in the corporate income tax return.
The asset reports give the status, the history and the summary card for each category, which you also need when you count the assets in the year-end stock count.
